Sales & Store Administrator Rochelle, IL

Johnson Tractor is looking for a Sales & Store Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to our Sales team while also serving as a key customer-facing resource at our Rochelle dealership.

​

This is a varied role that combines sales support, customer service, administrative work, equipment and inventory information, reporting, and day-to-day support of the Rochelle location. The right person will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple computer systems, and able to keep things moving in a busy dealership environment.

What You’ll Do:​

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the Rochelle location by answering and directing incoming calls, greeting and directing customers and visitors, and helping connect people with the appropriate team member.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to salespeople and the Rochelle location.

  • Maintain accurate equipment and sales information across dealership, CRM, inventory, manufacturer, and online listing systems.

  • Process sold equipment updates and keep equipment status, location, salesperson, customer, pricing, and other information accurate.

  • Create and maintain used equipment listings, including descriptions, specifications, photos, pricing, and availability.

  • Manage and assign incoming online leads to the appropriate salesperson.

  • Perform regular equipment and inventory audits and follow up on discrepancies or missing information.

  • Administer and track rental equipment, including weekly reporting, equipment status, location follow-up, and coordination with dealership personnel.

  • Prepare and distribute sales reports, used equipment reports, salesperson reports, scorecards, and other sales-related reporting.

  • Assist with annual sales goals, quarterly goal follow-up, sales meetings, sales clinics, and the annual Sales Kickoff.

  • Coordinate administrative activities related to AuctionTime and dealership auctions.

  • Assist with manufacturer, sales, and training portals, including user access and training registrations.

  • Assist with sales-related travel arrangements, meeting logistics, customer clinics, and other events.

  • Provide backup administrative support to Accounting and Marketing as workload allows.

  • Maintain organized and accurate files, spreadsheets, reports, and other sales documentation.

  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Parts, Accounting, Marketing, Management, customers, manufacturers, and other business partners.

  • Help with other administrative and dealership needs as they arise.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and work with multiple software systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and business partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

​Preferred Experience:

  • Administrative, sales support, or customer service experience.

  • Experience with CRM, inventory, or dealership management systems.

  • Experience in an agricultural, equipment, automotive, or related industry.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and reporting.

What to Expect:​

This is a primarily office-based position at our Rochelle dealership, with regular interaction with customers and employees throughout the dealership. You can expect a mix of phone calls, customer questions, administrative work, computer work, reporting, and tasks that require attention to detail.

​

You'll also occasionally work throughout the dealership, showroom, and outdoor lot as needed. Workload and phone activity may increase during the busy Spring and Fall seasons.

​

The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with Saturday hours from 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. as applicable. Occasional travel or attendance at sales meetings, clinics, training events, or other dealership functions may be required.

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time

  • Location: Rochelle, IL

  • Starting Wage Range:  $23.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
