Service - Amboy IL - Full-Time
Definition: The Service Technician is responsible for performing equipment service needs for customers and other departments within the dealership including diagnostics, repairs, maintenance and pre-delivery set up work. Service Technicians position included various levels of experience from set-up or shop technician to Master Certified. Certified Service Technicians will be required to maintain a specific level of knowledge and training as required by the equipment brands.
Qualifications and Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma. An Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred. Must possess excellent mechanical aptitude, strong decision making and problem solving skills, have safe work habits and have a high attention to detail. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and maintain a professional work environment.
Primary Job Duties:
Perform diagnostics and repairs of agriculture and lawn/garden equipment and implements.
Actively listen to customer complaints and identify possible solutions.
Complete required documentation and accurately track time for work performed to assist in accurate customer and warranty billing.
Professionally communicate clear explanations of equipment problems diagnosed and available solutions to customers, supervisor or other departments.
Maintain equipment knowledge through training opportunities offered by company (some may be off-site and require travel and overnight stays)
Abide by all safety guidelines as outlined in company’s safety program.
Identify additional service needs the customer may have during the repair process and make appropriate suggestions to the customer.
Represent the service department, the store and Johnson Tractor in a professional manner.
